well, i can play some of his easy song. my fingers wont listen to me yet. lol as above as below rising force save our love crying i'm learning far beyond. looking to get some tips here Whe I first started playing Yngwie one of the things I used to practice constantly to a metronome was the intro to the solo in Magic Mirror. It's another one of those Yngwie licks that is played very fast, but sounds almost as good slow, so it isn't boring to practice. At least not to me anyway . Far Beyond the Sun is a classic! Two of the licks are tabbed wrong though. I posted the correct fingering on page 3 of this thread to one of them. I'll try to post the other one later. I can't do it now though, I have to leave work .

queen........ wheres the boom boom in your Flute Quintet? you have to have those heart wrenching appoggiatura's, timpani blasts, dramatic pauses.. thats totally 'me' though, not you.. it was v. enjoyable to listen to, especially knowing it was performed and wasnt a crappy sibelius (makes fog horn sound). good job! Ill write you what sort of stuff i mean when i get back, im staying out for 2 nights, i cant stand getting to work, and nan lives pretty close, so that extra hours sleep is a yngwie-send. ciao. lol Yngwie-send. I like that! ;D As for the Flute Quintet, remember that it is just that. I love timpani and great big explosions and all the drama and tension just as much as you do. And you'll find all that in my Dragon Storm music and operas (when I get to record them). This is an example of one of my chamber works and, as such, it is not appropriate to have such bombast in it. It was a birthday present for Kathryn, so I wrote something in a style that she would like to play. Also, I knew that this would be recorded as a live performance with only a 10 or 15 minute rehearsal to make sure everyone knew the parts they were playing, so I made it easy to sightread (and dramatic pauses in this instance would have just thrown everyone off time and made a mess of the performance). One day you will learn (when your music is played by real people) that If you can't find the people to fit the music, you must make the music fit the people you have, or you end up with nothing but an unplayed masterpiece that no-one will ever get to hear. Of course the dream is to write the music exactly as you want it and then find the perfect musicians to fill the parts you need, but you have to start from somewhere...

Yargh, we be pirates here, matey, yargh isnt the Interlude in AASB fantastic, one of the first things i learnt of Yngwie's. still not perfect, but its enjoyable to play and a great thing to practice with a metronome as its fast moving, mostly semiquavers and introduces triplets into things. lol..pirates

The arpeggio lick he plays after the first solo starting on F# (he also repeats it at the end of the song right before the final solo, but it's down a fourth starting on C#) is tabbed over 4 strings, but he really plays it on three and it is much easier this way. It goes: A string : F# - G# - A or 9 - 11 - 12 D string : C# or 11 G string: F# - G# - A or 11 - 13 - 14 When you play the C# on the D string, shift up and bar the 11th fret on the D and G with your first finger. I think the tab to the ending of the solo intro lick in As Above, So Below is wrong also. Although, I've never seen him actually play it. I play all of the arpeggios on three strings starting on the E string. I'm not really that good with arpeggios and I find it much easier this way .

I sung "You don´t remember " with a old band I used to be in. It was always a live favourite:) On guitar I have tried the rhythm guitars for "Crystal ball, I´ll see the light tonight and Cross the line". On keys I have played "You don´t remember, Crystal ball, Vengeance and No love lost". Me and a friend recorded a few cover versions of various Yngwie songs as well:) I´m getting nostalgic her;)
