I've learned a few of Yngwie's songs by ear, but mostly I just play along to bits of songs when I feel like it. I don't usually play something all the way through and sounding exactly like Yngwie. Sometimes I play what Yngwie plays and sometimes I'll make up a harmony it, except for the songs from the Rising Force album because that one was the first one I bought. I basically wanted to play that note for note exactly like on the recording, just to see if it was possible to make the same sound on the violin, but I don't tend to do that now. I like playing Far Beyond the Sun the best and Arpeggios from Hell, which I adapted slightly to fit the range of the violin. A lot of the songs I prefer to sing rather than play, because Yngwie's songs are just so much fun to sing.

Care to give us some recordings ressurection??
and you too queenofshred, Yngwie on a Violin, that must sound tremendous.
as for me, i tend to learn 3/4's of a song and find something new and interesting, learn 3/4's of that and the cycle goes on.
ive learnt over 50 songs but i usually only practice about 10, its as much as i can remember at one time.. sometimes i forget to practice songs
Im close to getting
Trilogy suite As above so below (my own weird version) Blitzkrieg In the name of god.

I'd prefer to make some recordings when I've got my electric violin, but I might do something on the acoustic, if I get time.

GEEZ man, resurrection must have an onboard memory chip in his head if he can remember that lot. I struggle to remember songs with just 5 chords in them let alone a billion notes but anyway i think to play the Rising Force solo and the Demon Driver 3 string sweep section is a must for all guitarists!! For real showing off you gotta do Trilogy suite, black star and Far beyound the Sun.

Its pretty weird yes, but i can play them all in order as above. Ive played Yngwies songs so often that its ridiculou. IMO his songs are the most fun to play Ive played Rising Force, Queen in Love, far beyond, Black Star, trilogi Suit on stage with a band. It was greeaaaatt!! I was dead after 3 songs because i like to move around like Yngwie on stage...thats the fun part...ill swear its like running for 5 miles. Yngwies great when he manages a 2 hour set..shit

Ressurection, in Valhalla, is the arppegio intro to the solo using 7ths I cant figure is out. Not the repeating part that has the pedal point, but the part immediately after that.

I can some riffs and solos here and there, but the one song I know from start to end is Evil Eye,,, except the solo part which I play like half the speed of Yngwie!

For some reason I will get on a kick and start to learn a song and then get impatient or bored and just start writing my on stuff. So most of the time I will just pick out parts of songs that I like and learn that.

I played a medley of the acoustic section of Trilogy Suite and the intro to Disciples of Hell on classical guitar at my own wedding. It was a little nerve wracking playing in a tux, (I haven't played dressed up since I played viola in high school orchestra) but I managed it. Our guests loved it. Later in the night my wife and I danced to Like an Angel. It was a great night.
