23 years old, played for 9 years soon, i and i wanna get famous like "Yngwie the man". By the way, i bought UTF 2 days ago and have also learned to play the Revolution and Cherooke Warrior, and a little bit of Winds of war and Locked and Loaded.
If i love an Yngwie song, i wanna be able to play it on the guitar, so i can let some friend here it at the guitarstore or what not.

It's cool when you can play someone an Yngwie song and convert them. Even my grandma likes to hear me play Far Beyond the Sun, and now she likes nearly all Yngwie songs apart from the more heavy stuff! lol

i´m 20 years old and play now for 4 years guitar and can play all the yngwie stuff, that´s the reason i play for line 6 and so on. i have a very strong will and i´m very self critical. when i learn a yngwie song it takes about 10minutes, i learn the rythm and than i show on which scales the solo based. for me its very important that i perfectly figure the song out...i mean that i can use the whole fretboard all the time, and not only a small range.its important that you can improv on the whole guitar fretboard, it makes your playing safer and better. yngwie improv his solos and play it every time different. i have learn my feeling and improvisation from all the ritchie blackmore stuff. that is the best you can happend, when you start your guitar playing with Blackmore stuff. i play all the time guitar , when i watch tv and so on....up to 7-9 hours a day, but its no simple practice....its more like testing other ways to play things or to compose new stuff, scales. guitar is my passion!

I wish I could play my violin while watching tv. It's not an instrument that's easy to play without sufficient bowing space. I tried playing in a car once (without a sunroof) and I couldn't do it because there was no room to bow, and that's how I also discovered that it's impossible to play lying down as well because there's nothing to hold the instrument in place. lol

lol
i would buy me a violin, very nice instrument. but i think, violin and piano and so on is a instrument were you must learn the basics by a good teacher. its very important by violin an piano, because that you learn the right finger sentence (i hope that is the right word. lol). i have never taken a guitar lesson in my life. i learned everything by myself and play perfect with all fingers.

I dont know anything about Blackmore...only Yngwie You don't know about Ritchie I beg that you go listen to these Deep Purple albums In Rock Fireball Machinehead Made in Japan Stormbringer Burn and just about anything by Rainbow The man is a genius and remember the Deep purple stuff was done in the 70s, his attack, feel and style of play is unlike any other guitarist. Go seek it out dude

I don't think you need to have lessons. If you listen to and watch enough people playing different styles, you'll pick it up. I've learned a lot more in 3 years since I stopped having lessons than I did from 12 years of lessons.

ok @ alex i have no problems with yngwie songs, when you play a lot of yngwie songs, than are the other still easy. when i on my shows and play the yngwie songs like far beyond the sun, blitzkrieg, black star, the people come to me and say: wow its sounds really like yngwie and that my playing are so virtuose. you must realize that the most solos in the same basics is.
