Took a while to learn how to use it (I'm slow on that stuff), but it's great! And what comes to the NS-2... I think it's very good. Can't tell you much more about, 'cause I have never played without it.... Whats your settings on your MG? Sorry... I can't remember them now, the amps at the rehersal place... But I think it's something like: Bass: all off Middle: 10 o'clock Treble: 2 o'clock I'm not sure about that though, but I would remeber it like that.

I am glad tho that it is once again cool to know how to play guitar well. My daughters friends like to just sit and listen when I play with their mouths open. Its a good feeling, since when I was in high school Nirvana and Pearljam were popular so people would just look at you weird if you did anything cool on the guitar. Same here. When I was at school everyone who played guitar just played the same old crappy chords, and on the occasions when I would pick up someone's guitar just to be cool (because it was cool to play guitar, not violin) I would play one of my violin pieces on it coz that's what I like to play and people told me that I couldn't play guitar -- that wasn't the way to do it, and I was just turning the guitar into a "lame classical instrument". That really put me off guitar and guitarists so much that I only just recovered from it last year when I re-discovered Yngwie.

Yeah I know what you mean, only the hard core metal heads at my school appreciated what I could do on a guitar, But when I tried to form bands we could never agree on singing styles cause I hate that screaming/grunting on a toilet sounding stuff.

I hate that, too. There were no metal heads at my school. There were 3 groups -- trendies (read fashion victims), alternatives (read alternative fashion victims grunge/punk combo), and me lol

Hi there, new to this forum.... I remember, years ago, I read in a magazine an interview where he said he used the old Ibanez Tube Screamer, however, I havent seen it listed anymore among his gear, I'm sure that makes a big difference between his earlier sound and his latest. I, myself, love what the tube screamer adds to the sound, I dont mind dealing with the extra noise.

On the live in 85 video, when its going thru his gear at the end, you can clearly see on his dod that he used to have the volume set on full but the gain only at 9 o'clock......where as nowadays he has them both on full, try it, i have found it can give a simular sound...

on his ns-2 he 'supposedly' has the threshold set full to the right and the decay on about 7/8ish o'clock......... this personally on my setup totally kills the sustain........ but is needed to get rid of the noise from the dod..... ALTHO, we think the reason for the noise (because its louder than normally should be is due to a groundloop in the mains etc)...... anyway i shall be testing this when my amps and gear get brought home to my new studio when its built...
