On the back of Joes first album, there's a picture of Joe holding a Yngwie signature strat! And I think that's the coolest pic I have ever seen of Joe.

I dont personally have a problem with Joe, but his music seems to lack the creativity and fluidity of Yngwies, almost like he studied/copied Yngwie without going back and finding the roots. I dont know, it just seems like hes missing something, and its a big something.

Yeah.
He is good but I know what your talking about lacking something. I think the main problem is, like Yngwie has said before (you have to create your own style). I think that is very true! I think people only truly shine when they are playing there own style that they have developed. People like Jimi Hendrix, Steve Vai, Joe Statriani, Yngwie, and Eric Johnson have all come up with their own style and I have found them very original, and that why I enjoy listening to them!

I think joe is awsome actually. I think its important to recognise that musicians can be all ranges and all level of 'success'. I mean joestump main thing is being a teacher at berklee, and thats very admirable. I have some of his instructional dvds and hes a very good teacher, and hes also obviously a big fan. Hes happy to blurt out that his main influences are Blackmore, and hendrix, gary moore, michael shenker, and yngwie. Its also important the note the majority of his stuff is all instrumental , where as yngwies majority is with a vocalist. So while there both in the neoclassical vien they do different things. Frankily anyone whos playing and making a living from neoclassical guitar I think is great
