1961 Fender StratocasterHe rewired this one really weird. Here's how:
Middle pickup disconnected
Position 1. Bridge Pickup
Position 2. Bridge and Neck Pickup (Neck pickup reversed phase)
Position 3. Neck Pickup
Position 4. Neck Pickup
Position 5. Neck Pickup
1971 Fender Stratocaster [Number 1]The numbers of the strats comes from the number of the wireless transmitters, and this being his main guitar, it's called #1.
Converted from a 3-bolt to 4-bolt, and the usual changes (pickups, frets, brass nut and scalloping).
It's quite new in the pics, so there no Ferrari stickers yet.
1971 Fender Stratocaster [Number 2]The same as #1, but it sounds more crunchy and massive than #1.
1971 Fender Stratocaster [The Duck]The legendary duck. Pretty much the same as # 1 and #2. Heavily worn.
Neck broken 4 or 5 times.
1954 Fender StratocasterThis is a VERY old black strat (March '54), and it's completely stock (Even the pickups, and no scalloping). The date (3-54) means that it's one of the 10 first strats ever made.
1968 Fender Stratocaster Reversed Neck#3 on Attack!! tour, don't know what number it has now. 1968 maple cap. Neck originally from a left-handed guitar.
1956 Fender Stratocaster Shoreline gold...as seen on the instructional video...
Yngwie says it's "as rare as they can get", being a 1956 strat with custom color (Fender only made sunbust strats back then). so there's very few of these (since it cost much more, and you had to wait a long long time to get a custom color). And the color is called
Shoreline gold...
1967 Fender StratocasterA "one of a kind" strat. Made January 1967 when they used the small headstock, and this has the large headstock (large headstocks in '68), and no "skunk stripe on the back of the neck. Might be a prototype, and Fender say they probably just made one.
Yngwie Signature Stratocastervintage white, rosewood neck. It's got a Roland synth pickup on it, and it was used very much on the Attack!! album for flute sounds, intros and such.
Yngwie Malmsteen Double NeckMade by Fender Japan, this special guitar features a twelve-string Malmsteen Signature top, with the Malmsteen Japanese Signature Strat on the bottom. The controls are separate for the two guitars.
And he has many acoustic guitars (I don't know much about them)
Alvarez-Yairi DY-92 luteback steel-string
A pretty rare guitar.
Alvarez-Yairi Custom double neck acoutic.
This one is specially made for Yngwie. Both necks scalloped, one is 6 string nylon, other is 6 string steel.
Of course the
Ovation Vipers, black and white ones.
He also has a
Ovation 2002 Collectors Series. Beautyful guitar.
Carvin, don't know the model name (Unofficial sig guitar maybe, it has his name on it so.... don't know.)
One of Yngwie's favourite steel string acoustics.
He used the guitar very much doing overdubs for the Attack!! album
Gibson Flying VYngwie replaced the stock humbuckers with HS-3's, a very early single locking Floyd Rose tremolo system, no top lock nut, scalloped fretboard. Last seen on the Magnum Opus tour
Can be seen on '
Live at Budokan'
Gibson Les PaulSometimes when recording Yngwie uses a Gibson Les Paul for rhythm tracks, for a different souond. Yngwie has a few Les Pauls with his favourites being a Gold top and a tobacco sunburst model. These have been used on 'I'm My Own Enemy' and 'Voodoo' amongst other tracks. Yngwie doesn't know what year it is, but probably early 60's.
I'm trying to find some info for these guitars.
If you know something, please let me know.
