Has anyone else heard Uli Jon Roth's version of the Four Seasons? I'm listening to it right now and I absolutely love it ! I took me a little while to get used to his Sky Guitar which has 30 frets, or something like that, but I like it now. I remember Yngwie saying that he didn't like guitars with 24 frets because once you stretch a guitar past the standard 22 you start to lose tone. Does anyone else agree, or is this just something that only people with an exceptional ear (like Yngwie) would even notice?

I've seen his video for Spring, which I thought was really cool. I did notice that the high notes don't sound the same (no, I don't just mean they sound higher lol) and if this is what Yngwie means by loss of tone, I guess he just doesn't like that sound. I need to listen to more of Uli Jon Roth's stuff coz I reckon there's a lot there that I'd like.

It will only loose tone after the 22nd fret if the strings are old.. because the strings weaken their original strength pretty quickly and when its so high up like that it makes it go sort of, off..
but not new strings, i'd say you got a good 3/4 weeks before it starts to weaken.

On the Uli Jon Roth website. I don't have the address right here coz this isn't my computer but if you don't find it, I'll send it to you at some point.

Yikes, apparently our mate Uli was declared bankrupt yesterday, shall we have a quick whip round for him to get him some extra cash?
