I don't know him, so I can't comment but I know what you mean -- there are some people I just don't like. The name I have for people like this is dubrey head. Dubreys tend to have a major ego with no talent to back it up, but I would expect that Graham Bonnett has talent.

lol Yngwie has a pretty big ego but he sure the hell can with his playing and all but anyway in the music industry and any for that matter you have to, I mean right??? If you don't you'll be the shy person who didn't "make it".

Trial by fire is one of my all time favourite recordings, and I listen to it frequently. I haven't been able to put my hands on the video, but I do have Double Live and G3: Live in Denver. My kids love 'em both!! Hopefully, he'll come to the DC area and play a few arenas or maybe Nissan or Merriweather; I'd love to be able to bring my kids to the show, especially after seeing Yngwie at the Thunderdome last year; what a great show, and it was so cool that he seems to have gotten (gasp!) even better!!

I haven't been able to see all of Trial By Fire but I love it.... I have seen many clips on the Yngwie Malmsteen Lesson DVD.

Didnt like the Budokan video at all, except for rising force and maybe about 2 other songs..
that era of Yngwie i didnt like... Very early, fantastic, in the past 6/7 years great...
but that mid time was, it was like any other musician, Yngwie, to me, lost his "Thing"... and 99% of artists dont discover new things to do and die out..but Yngwie found out different ways to carry on, and in a lot of ways are better than when he started out, and that is so rare.
But yeah, the Budokan video didnt like..
Trial by Fire has its ups and downs too, i love Fury, Rising Force, Trilogy Suite, and the crazy long solo, FBTS.. but there are some songs i have to cringe to listen too.
But he has released so much stuff, way over 200 singles, that loving 50% of his stuff, is liking a hell of a lot more of his songs than other artists, who only have a few albums..

Alex -- a perfectionist as always! And I thought the biggest critic of Yngwie's music was the Maestro himself! lol
Then again, I didn't really enjoy the Budokan video, but I thought that was just because the fact it was a bad copy with bits missing had tainted the experience.

I love Trial by Fire and the Japan 85 videos just because at the time I was a serious Yngwie nut. Ive since purchased the Budokan DVD and the Brazilian DVD and whilst I enjoy them I have to agree with Alex that they are not his best era. With regard to Alcatrazz Ive got a video of a show they played in 1984 in which Yngwieis fantastic however Bonnetts live vocals are awful. I love the Alcatrazz albums inc the Vai one and I recommend them to anyone who hasnt got them in their collection.

Oh god! I just saw this and my first thought was "what a dubrey!". The vocals were so bad -- he was like a really bad karaoke singer. Truly cringworthy.
