Actually, i know i meant "something" by that last post, but im not entirely sure what, i wouldnt want Yngwie to change radically, even "v. measurably"..
I think its more i want his frame of mind to change.

You've made your point. (Well, repeatedly made your point.) And now comes the time for you to write your own music in exactly the style you want, change it as often as you like, and Yngwie will never bother you again ;D

And out of his back were the strings of the marionette master held by Yngwie in heaven above...

Just another clone that needs a new gimick so that they can say that Yngwie wasnt an influence. Its funny how most of them go for the speed thing, or the guitar that needs you to play it with both hands, your arse, and your toe knuckles, when Yngwie acheives what he does not even playing at the edge of his abilities. Oh, and I am not bashing MAB, Stump, Gilbert or any other clone, but this is an YNGWIE forum after all.

It is an Yngwie forum............. so?
second of all, i'd like to try the drugs that people take who think that Michael Angelo was influenced by Yngwie..
he goes into so much detail about his influences but you can hear it isnt Yngwie, speed is the only thing in common.

Some people are influenced by Yngwie and they don't even know it...

Personally i find MAB boring, yeah he is super talented but it all sounds like a blur of high speed widdle to me, no feel or finesse'.

the majority of it is "widdle"... i will be the first to admit..
but i will also admit i thought Yngwie was (as many others did and still do and will do in the future)
the key is getting to know someones music and seperate the initial "err" and get into the music..
I find Prog and No Boundaries incredible... absolutely off the face of this earth talented compositions and performances...
the stuff i like is also like Rain Forest (the rhythm part and when he hands on that note before the solo with the overdrive sweeps you off your feet)..
then there there is China and The Finish Line which are still pretty cool (arpeggio section in TFL inparticular) and the intro to China..
though he also recycles his solo's, they are his own style, and the way people here dont like MAB is the same way people who like MAB dont like Yngwie, its knowing one and not the other..
and i know and love both..
gtg The Apprentice USA is on.

Well, about two years ago, I met Michael Angelo Batio at a guitar clinic he did in Makin' Music in Frederick, Maryland. Nice fellow, he signed a guitar and a Dean catologue for me. Great player, not an Yngwie clone at all. But.... when a kid asked if he was a friend of Yngwie or had been influenced by Yngwie, he said, "I don't think Yngwie has any friends" and "I wrote this song called [can't touch that] and, well, I doubt he can". I bracketed the title because I am not sure that that is quite correct. He played the tune, and not only could Yngwie have touched it, he could have done so with much better tone and feeling. Also, I thought that it was in poor taste to badmouth Yngwie at a guitar clinic. Yngwie has had a very broad impact on the world of guitar and a prolific body of work by anyone's standards. Also, none of Yngwie's material is poorly done. You may find some less worthy than other material he has done, but he never plays poorly. Few others can say that.
I have HWS, and while I liked it, I still don't like Michael Angelo's skinny tone and I still think he has a long way to go to catch the maestro. Michael Angelo gets the majority of his speed from playing legato, not from picking, though his picking technique is quite good.
