I just gave this album another listen, for the first time in about 2 years, and I must say it's great ! I can't believe I didn't really rate it when I first got it. It has some monster tracks on it and the production is stellar. Every Yngwie album should sound like this.
I particularly like :
PROPHET OF DOOM BAD REPUTATION CATCH 22 WILD ONE WAR TO END ALL WARS
But really, I like it all. Killer album.
I am ashamed to say that this is the most recent Malmsteen album that I own, but I am rectifying that in the next month or so, when I will receive the missing albums I need to complete my collection.

WTEAW is my 2nd fav (after UTF) If you like the production, you must have a sound system something like mine. It sounds fantastic...until I take it out of the house for someone else to hear, then the snare drum drowns out everything (kinda like someone repeatedly hitting you on the head with a hammer), the vocals and guitars are really muffled (and for some reason unknown to me it seems to affect the intonation ), and it sounds so amateur, I cringe and feel like crawling into a corner and completely disowning the album. Now I only let people hear it when they come round -- never let it out of the house!

Interesting point about the production, Queenie. I have one of those sound systems which allows you to change the style from ROCK to POP to CLASSICAL to METAL to JAZZ etc. but since I only really listen to rock or metal stuff I just keep it on the METAL setting. I will try WTEAW on the other settings and see if it changes my opinion. As for the snare drum "crack", I love that ! I'm a drummer so I always love when the snare dominates a recording. Maybe it's annoying to many, but I just love it. Another thing, I don't usually play stuff like MALMSTEEN to friends because I know they just wouldn't get it !

Most of my friends don't get it Mine doesn't have different genre settings but does this self-adjust thing to get the best sound AND IT'S F**KING LOUD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I've never played anything on full volume coz the neighbours complain (well, actually they come from down the next road) if it gets past 20% but sometimes I turn it up full with my finger hovering over the play button and imagine shattered windows and eardrums for miles around if my finger should "accidentally slip" ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D On another note, got the new kit on Saturday, so I'm now a drummer, too (well, it's not my kit but good as). It takes up half the studio and now there's hardly any standing space. Will post some pics later this week.

The production is what really turned me off to WTEAW ( that and Mark Boals, sorry Queen:P) I dont have many friends anymore and the ones I do have know very well my obsessions, however when ever Im carting one of my kids friends around and Im playing YJM they always love it and soon there after I make another convert. I feel like some dirty evangelist
