My would have to be Yngwie, Hendrix, SRV, Joe Satch, Steve Vai, Jimmy Page, Joe Stump, Blackmore and Jason Becker. I really don't have many classical inspirations but I do like John Williams music.

Cool. I was listening to John Williams today on this compilation my parents have. Strange thing happened as I walked through the door -- what should be playing but Canon in D! Just thought this was strange coz I hadn't played it for a while and now suddenly it's everywhere.
My inspiration comes from Yngwie, Bach, Vivaldi, Mozart, Beethoven, Paganini, Bartok, Saltdog (although now I don't think a lot of them), Jack's Family, Queen, Mooncoin, Yngwie (again, as I kind of forgot the 1st time by this stage) Mark Wood, and my guitarist Peter Turrell (we inspire each other all the time).

My inspiration comes from many many... But the main insp. is Yngwie (of course), Satriani, Vai, all kinds of classical music, Esa Pulliainen (a Finnish guitarist), and SRV.

Well he helped me out a lot when I first started ( gave me a guitar and an amp) and he used to play some Yngwie, Van Halen stuff. He was also into the heavier stuff that had good guitarists too, King Diamond, pantera that sort of thing. He didnt really teach me anything I just sort of watched/listened to him. 10 years later tho and now he watches me:)

Yes I am, He let his skills and interest wane these last several years, and when he got into financial trouble he even went and almost pawned them so I bought them instead. I also concentrated more on improving my skill level and he stagnated for whatever reason and got into newer rock i.e. Alice in Chains etc so it didnt really challenge him. It ifeels good to have him be proud of my skill My parents dont really appreciate it and sometimes I think my wife would rather I didnt have a guitar habit.

I totally understand what you mean. My fiance hates it that I spend so much time with my violin and listening to Yngwie rather than with him and he thinks I have a problem and need therapy lol!

Therapy LOL if they only knew!! I can barely look at a guitar picture anymore without getting the EVIL EYE. 'course that might have something to do with the fact that I've gotten 3 guitars and a new stack in the last year
